Welcome to Arundhati Kogekar's Webpage
About Myself
I'm a second year Masters student in the Computer Science department at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. I also work as a Research Assistant at the Institute of Integrated Systems (ISIS) and my research advisor is Dr. Aniruddha Gokhale. My research interests include Distributed Object Computing and Distributed Real-Time Embedded Systems, as well as Model-Driven Design and Architecture.
In my free time I like to explore Nashville and the surrounding areas. I also love to read, especially English literature, and Jane Austen and P.G. Wodehouse are my favourite authors. I'm also interested in learning German. In fact, I visited Germany for a month on a PAD Scholarship in the summer of '99. I had a grand time there!
Projects
- Quality of Service (QoS) Tool Development:This was my summer internship project at eBay, Inc. I developed a performance analysis tool which calculated the QoS scores of each new build.
- Model-Driven Development: I am co-developing a modeling language called "POSAML" for pattern-based middleware systems. By composing and modeling various architectural patterns, a systems designer would be able to construct a distributed middleware framework and evaluate it at design time itself. Using the middleware specialization features of the modeling language, the designer would also be able to evaluate possible configurations and select the best amongst them.
- Performance Analysis of Middleware Systems: I am designing simulation models for various middleware architectural patterns using the OMNeT++ Simulator. These simulation models could be composed together to form a simulation model of an entire middleware framework. This would be extremely useful for design-time performance analysis of middleware systems. I am also working on auto-generating the simulation models from our modeling language POSAML. This would enable design-time analysis of the middleware model "at the click of a button".
