System Requirements

The following system requirements are needed to successful use Visual OSimulator.

Operating System	Windows XP
Developing Environment	Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003 (version 7.1)
Script Engine(s)	ActivePerl ¹ (or any other perl script engine)

¹ Perl script engine is required by the project generator.

Currently, Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003 is the only supported developing environment. We are in the process of porting Visual OSimulator to other software development environments and platforms.

As noted above, a perl script engine is needed for use by the project generator. ActivePerl is available free online at http://www.activestate.com/Products/ActivePerl/. Until we have permission to redistribute ActivePerl with Visual OSimulator, you will have to manually download and install it.
