You have reached this page because you wanted to download a CIDLC binary which can be used with CIAO. This page contains links to different types of binaries that are in use and some useful tips that will help you gather the right information before getting in touch with the DOC group if there is a problem. DOC guys can be a jerk if you don't give them the right information ;)

The following table summarizes platforms on which CIDLC binaries are provided and their status :

Built regularly with every release Linux, Solaris (SPARC and x86), MacOSX (PPC), and Windows. Binaries on Win32 can be used with VC7.1, VC8, ICC, and Borland compilers to build CIAO applications.

Built when we get resources MacOSX (Universal) If you have resources to spare which we could use for building CIDLC please let us know.

Release binaries (beta or a minor release) are available here . To download a binary for the release, please look for the files ending with the version information such as 0.4.1 or 0.4.2.
We also build CIDL compiler on a daily (once every night) basis on Linux, Solaris, MacOSX (PPC) and Win32 for our continuous testing of CIAO. They are available here. You will be using that at your own risk, and it is not guaranteed to work for you at all. Needless to say that the code generated is compatible only with the latest version of CIAO available through from SVN .

If you are reporting problems to the DOC group about a nightly built version or the release version of CIDLC, please run
$ ./cidlc --version
